PH Outbound Business Matching Mission Visits Johannesburg

PRETORIA 10 September 2018 — To boost trade and economic diplomacy between the Philippines and South Africa, the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, in collaboration with the Department of Trade and Industry-Export Management Bureau, organized a Philippine Outbound Business Matching Mission in Johannesburg, South Africa from 30 August to 01 September 2018.
The delegation is composed of executives from Philippine companies engaged in the supply or manufacturing of office equipment, garments, consumer goods, IT equipment, coconut water, biscuits, banana chips, herbal products, and machinery. The primary objective of the mission was to gather information on South African retail market and trade, and the feasibility of importing Philippine products into the South African market.
In Johannesburg, the delegation met with South African businessmen who are interested in Philippine products in a business-to-business matching sessions organized by the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The delegation also visited the Embassy, where an interactive session was organized in which experts on South African business shared their insights to the delegates regarding the market environment of South Africa, as well as other parameters that businesses should consider before entering into the South African market.
