PH Consulate General in New York Entertains Last Minute Overseas Voters Registrants

NEW YORK 10 October 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in New York opened its doors during the last weekend of September to entertain last-minute applicants for the Overseas Absentee Voters registration in preparation for the May 2019 senatorial and party-list elections.
Almost 21,000 Filipinos registered at PCGNY at the end of the registration period.
Registrants are encouraged to regularly check PCGNY’s website, www.newyorkpcg.org,for the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) certified list of registered voters.
Under Republic Act No. 9189, otherwise known as "The Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003", all citizens of the Philippines abroad, not otherwise disqualified by law, at least eighteen (18) years of age on the day of the election, and who are registered overseas absentee voters with approved application to vote in absentia, may vote.
