MANAMA 29 October 2018 — Resulting from the partnership between the Philippine Embassy in Manama and Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), a total of 42 Filipino workers were issued their Blue Cards on 17 October 2018 at the LMRA Sitra Branch.
The Embassy assisted the second batch of Filipino nationals who are eligible to avail of the Flexible Visa Program of Bahrain’s LMRA and who also availed of the Philippine Government’s financial assistance.
After the release of the LMRA Flexi Visa Blue Cards to 39 Filipino workers, more eligible OFWs in the country have flocked to the LMRA’s Sitra Industrial Area branch to avail of the said assistance.
Running on its second week, the Embassy continues to encourage eligible OFWs to avail of the program. The program provides undocumented or irregular workers the opportunity to legalize their status in Bahrain, with the cost of the application (BD449.00), the registration fee (BD5.00) and two months of the monthly fee (BD30.00 a month) or a total of BD514.000 being borne by the Philippine Government.
Since the launching of the joint program, over 200 OFWs have already applied for the Flexible Visa with the LMRA, 81 of whom have been issued their Blue Cards. END
