PSC Officials Meet Bruneian Counterparts for 10th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 31 October 2018 – The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) conducted an ocular visit in Brunei Darussalam on 18-21 October 2018 to view the venues of the sports events for the 10th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games on 07-09 December 2018.

The PSC officials were Administrative Officer IV Zenaida R. Rollon and PSC Sports and Games Regulation Officer II Rovilyn G. Gofredo. They also met also met MCYS Acting Director of Youth and Sports Zafri Hj Mohamed where the Philippines’ participation in the Friendship Games was discussed. They were joined by Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) Youth and Sports Officer Bakhtiar bin Haji Buntan during the ocular visit.

PSC officials also made a courtesy call on Philippine Embassy Chargé d’Affaires Pete Raymond V. Delfin on 19 October 2018. They conveyed that the Philippine delegation will be headed by PSC Commissioner Charles Raymond A. Maxey and will be joined by Palawan Governor Jose C. Alvarez and Davao City Sports Development Division Officer-In-Charge Michael Denton P. Aportadera. The contingent will be comprised of around 130 delegates including officials, coaches, athletes, and members of the PSC Secretariat.

The PSC officials expressed their appreciation to MCYS for assisting them during their ocular visit in Brunei as well as the Philippine Embassy for its representations with MCYS and full support to the Philippine delegation who will compete in the Friendship Games.

The Philippines will play host to the 11th BIMPNT-EAGA Friendship Games in 2019. This will be the fourth time that the country will host the Friendship Games as it previously hosted said event in 1996 (General Santos), 2003 (Puerto Princesa), and 2012 (General Santos). END
