PARIS 05 November 2018 – The message of compassion for Manila’s street children was conveyed by ANAK-Tulay ng Kabataan (Tnk), a foundation established in 1998 by French Jesuit priest Father Jean-Francois Thomas, during its 20th anniversary celebration in Paris on 20 October 2018.
With the theme “Saved by Love,” the celebration included a photo exhibit, a book launch, concert, and a conference.
Ambassador to Paris Ma. Theresa P. Lazaro attended the event together with Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, French television producer Thierry Bizot, and French writer and philosopher Fabrice Hadjadj.
Ambassador Lazaro highlighted the work of non-governmental organizations such as the ANAK-Tnk, saying “ANAK-TnK brings hope to the most unfortunate in Manila. Its focus on street children is praiseworthy since childhood is a crucial time in a person’s life when one develops good values which will guide the person throughout his or her life.”
She also noted the strong spirit of volunteerism among the French, and expressed appreciation to the volunteers who continue to commit their time to help the work of ANAK-Tnk. END
