PH Embassy in Buenos Aires Assists Filipino Seafarer in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES 30 September 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires assisted in the repatriation of Ian Lorenz Taping, a Filipino seafarer who had grave head injury while working onboard the MV “BBC Ursa.”

Mr. Taping who was confined in the Rio Gallegos Hospital in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina arrived in Manila from the incident on 10 August 2018 until 09 September 2018. He was accompanied by Rio Gallegos Hospital ICU Head Dr. Osvaldo Rubio, who volunteered to ensure that Mr. Taping will have good medical assistance during the long flight from Argentina to the Philippines.

Ms. Marites Taping, mother of Mr. Taping, warmly welcomed them at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
