PH Ambassador to Czech Republic Meets Newly-Appointed Czech Foreign Minister

PRAGUE 23 November 2018 – To immediately convene a joint consultative meeting to further discuss the recently concluded economic cooperation agreement and recently signed defense cooperation agreement between the Philippines and the Czech Republic, Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Ombra T. Jainal met Honorable Tomáš Petříček, the newly-appointed Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic at the Czernin Palace on 23 October 2018.

The Ambassador and Foreign Minister Petříček discussed various areas of cooperation such as trade and economic relations, defense cooperation, as well as cultural and educational exchanges. Both officials expressed their common desire in the promotion and advancement of educational exchanges particularly in the field of science. 

Foreign Minister Petříček also expressed his desire to visit the Philippines which the Ambassador welcomed. The possibility of an official higher than that of the Foreign Minister to visit the Philippines was also mentioned. 

The Ambassador expressed hope that the Philippines and the Czech Republic will be able to work closely and actively together in various fields of cooperation. END
