27 June 2013 – Philippine Consul General to Hawaii Julius D. Torres attended the 63rd Korean War Commemoration at the Punchbowl, Honolulu, Hawaii on June 25.
The ceremony was held in honor of all Korean War veterans who dedicated themselves in defense of freedom and democracy in the Korean War, which took place from 25 June 1950 to 27 July 1953).
The keynote speaker was Admiral Cecil D. Haney, Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet.
A wreath-laying ceremony by the members of the Hawaii Consular Corps, Korean veterans, the Korean community Organizations and officials of the County and City of Honolulu, led by Mayor Kirk Caldwell, was also held at the latter part of the program. END
