PH Consulate General in Manado Explores Partnership with Makassar City

MANADO 13 November 2018 – The Philippine Consulate General in Manado and the Filipino Community presented the best of the Philippines at various events in Makassar City.
Consul General in Manado Oscar G. Orcine met with top representatives of various diplomatic missions, ranking officials of the Indonesian Government, and business leaders at the International and Regional High-Level Forum for Cooperation in Makassar, South Sulawesi on 09-11 October 2018.
Makassar City Mayor Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto hosted the even, where he presented investment opportunities to various delegations that included the members of diplomatic and consular corps, officials of local government units, and other high-level officials.
The Mayor also discussed the top investment opportunities in Makassar City which include the Makassar Sombere and Smart City, Balang Tonjong Lakeside Resort, Tallo River Eco Town, Somba Opu Double Decker City Walk, Sombere Makassar LRT, Green Parking Garage, Makassar Waste to Energy, City Fiber Optic Network, and Integrated City Toll Road.
After the forum, Consul General Orcine led the Filipino Community in participating in the Makassar F8 Festival which featured creations in the areas of flora and fauna, food and fruit, fusion music, fiction writers, folk, fine arts, film, and fashion.
Members of the Filipino Community worked closely with the Consulate General in putting up the Philippine Expo Booth, which displayed Philippine cultural items and served Philippine dishes to curious visitors. END
