PHNOM PENH 06 December 2018 — More Philippine-made products are expected to enter Cambodia's growing consumer market in the coming months as Philippine companies look to expand their presence overseas.

Eljay Bonaobra, Business Development Manager of CYS Pharma, a Phnom Penh-based distributor, recently informed Ambassador to Cambodia, Christopher B. Montero, of his company’s plans to import beauty and personal care products from the Belo Medical Group, as well as food products, health supplements, medical equipment and devices from the Philippines.

CYS Pharma is the main importer and distributor of Purefoods hotdogs, tocino, and longganisa, which are currently sold in major grocery stores in Cambodia. The company will be adding Fiesta Ham as among the products it will sell for the coming Christmas season.

With a young and dynamic population and increasing purchasing power, the Cambodian market presents great opportunities for Philippine companies seeking to grow their business presence and market reach in the region.

“It is important for the Filipino community in Cambodia to patronize Philippine-made consumer goods as it will in turn encourage their Cambodian friends to sample quality, yet affordable, products,” Ambassador Montero noted during his meeting with Eljay Bonaobra.

Philippine companies that are already present in Cambodia include Liwayway Food Industries, Unilab, San Miguel Beer, Cebu Pacific, Potato Corner, Penshoppe, and Jewelmer, while various products from Davies Paints, Universal Robina Corporation, Century Tuna, and Petron are also be found in major cities of Cambodia.
