PH Embassy in Brunei Commences Basic Computer Training for OFWs

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN 06 December 2018 — As part of empowering overseas Filipinos by providing them additional skills and knowledge which they can use in their current work or when they return home, the Philippine Embassy in Brunei, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA) Office, initiated a Basic Computer Training program for 51 active OWWA members.

The course started on 21 October 2018 at the Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology Sdn Bhd in Brunei.

Of the 51 OFWs enrolled in the training, 25 are household service workers, 24 are skilled workers and two are professionals.

The training, which is part of the Reintegration Program of the POLO-OWWA, intends to give additional knowledge on basic computer and internet concepts to the OFW-participants.

Classes will be held for five consecutive Sundays and a simple graduation program will be held for those who successfully complete the training on 18 November 2018. END
