Filipino Physician Holds Lecture on Nuclear Medicine in Vienna
VIENNA 03 November 2018 – The Philippine Embassy and Mission in Vienna organized the second lecture series entitled “Atoms for Health: Seeing Beyond the Surface – Nuclear Medicine in Detecting and Treating Cancer and other Conditions,” keynoted by Dr. Thomas Neil Pascual.
The event was widely appreciated by the guests notably, Filipino professionals who are members of the United Nation (UN)-Vienna International Centre Filipino Club and representatives of various non-UN Filipino groups and actively participated during the dialogue segment with the speakers.
Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe R. Natividad expressed her support to the Philippine-Austrian Cultural and Educational Society (PACES) lecture series.
Dr. Pascual joined the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in 2012 as a nuclear medicine physician and technical officer in the Department of Health. He was in charge of nuclear medicine capacity building projects in Asia Pacific and the African region.
He made the country proud as he shared the positive contribution he made in Cambodia, where he undertook an IAEA pioneering task to establish its first nuclear medicine facility and training its nuclear medicine medical doctor at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Philippines. END
