Consul General to New York Claro S. Cristobal graced the opening of the exhibit of the Society of Philippine-American Artists (SPAA) to celebrate their 25th anniversary at the Lobby-Gallery of the Philippine Center in New York from 15 to 26 October. Thirty-one participating Filipino-American artists and one special entry were featured at the Exhibit, where six winning works were selected based on aesthetics, skill and technique, meaning or theme, uniqueness, and intended level of achievement.
The winners were: Puerto Rivas Fishermen by Angelito David (Watercolor); No Fishing by Apolinario Folloso (Acrylic); A Piece of Manhattan by Angelo Maristela (Oil); Travel by Christian Ray Blaza (Mixed Media); Texting in Coron by Carlos Esguerra (Photography); and Winter Afternoon in the Park by Guest Artist Osar R.
