Filipino Artists Showcased in Exhibit at PH Consulate in HK

HONG KONG 03 December 2018 – A three day exhibit featuring Filipino painters opened at the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong's Gallery on 12 November 2018.
“Linea Fina” showcased the artworks of renowned painter Lydia Velasco and five other Filipino contemporary artists, namely Julius Legaspi, Noel Bueza, Erwin Mallari, Salvador Ching and Adeline Buenaventura.
Consul General Antonio A. Morales led the opening ceremony and cocktail reception, inviting guests to view the diverse artworks ranging from paintings to sculptures, which were on display until 14 November 2018.
“Linea Fina” also featured art workshop sessions at the Gallery on 11 November 2018 for household service workers in Hong Kong. Mr. Legaspi held a workshop on watercolor, while Mr. Bueza conducted one on oil pastel. Both artists conducted lessons on basic drawing, color mixing, and brush stroke techniques.
The event was held in partnership with Kambal Gallery, a Hong Kong-based collective founded by twins Irene Bernarte Haagen and Anna Pendry with the objective of promoting and elevating Filipino arts in the international art scene. END
