ATHENS 19 November 2018 – The Philippines might see an increase in the number of Greek tourists in the country in the future as the Philippine Embassy in Athens amps up its tourism promotion in the European country by joining the annual international tourism exhibition PHILOXENIA 2018 at the T.I.F. HELEXPO in Thessaloniki, Greece from 09 to 11 November 2018.
Approximately 26,000 travel enthusiasts attended the three-day event which gathered 615 exhibitors from over 47 countries including the Philippines.
The Philippine Embassy in Athens, which has been participating in the annual PHILOXENIA tourism fair since 2015, highlighted the various tourist spots of the Philippines in its booth which captured the interests of both locals and foreigners who attended the fair.
Beautiful posters featuring Philippine attractions including Calle Crisologo, Fort Santiago, Mayon Volcano, Mt. Pinatubo, and the Puerto Princesa Underground River adorned the booth alongside images of various Philippine festivals such as Kasadyaan in Tacloban and Lanzones Festival in Camiguin Island.
The booth display also featured less prominent but otherwise must-visit destinations such as the Manjuyod White Sandbar, the Manmade Forest in Minglanilla, Cebu, and the Marlboro View Point in Mahatao, Batanes.
More than 770 brochures of Philippine tourism destinations that featured several hot spots such as Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Manila, and Palawan were also distributed at the booth.
