India’s New Consul General to SanFo Calls On PH Consul General

SAN FRANCISCO 03 December 2018 – Newly assigned Consul General of India Sanjay Panda called on Consul General in San Francisco and current dean of the San Francisco Consular Corps Henry S. Bensurto, Jr.

Consul General Panda shared that he was still adjusting to his new role as Consul General in the Bay Area and other parts of California, and states such as Guam and Hawaii.

He added that there are over 1.4 million people of Indian descent in the Silicon Valley, Bay Area and other areas of his jurisdiction in the United States.

Consul General Bensurto said that there are 1.3 million Filipinos under his jurisdiction. He shared that the Consular Corps in the Bay Area is very active and the League of San Francisco Consular Corps, headed by its president Mariza S. Bensurto, tries to provide support to the families of the Consular Corps, who are settling in the city and engages in a number of worthwhile activities.

Consul General Panda served as Ambassador and High Commissioner to Seychelles and as Joint Secretary for the Indian Ocean Region Division of the Ministry of External Affairs of India previously to this posting. END
