07 January 2014- Philippine Ambassador to South Africa Constancio R. Vingno, Jr. and Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno, together with the officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Pretoria, attended  the “Pananambahan 2013” held at the Fountain of Life Assembly Hall in Germiston, South Africa on 30 November 2013.

“Pananambahan 2013” is a yearly Christmas celebration of the Filipino Christian community in Germiston, South Africa. This year’s celebration was dedicated in memory of the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

The Filipino community gathering also coincided with the 150th Birth Anniversary of Philippine national hero Andres Bonifacio. Ambassador Vingno spoke briefly about the life of Andres Bonifacio and his  role in the Philippine revolution against Spanish rule.  END
