PHOTO: The Philippine Embassy in Manama and Sheraton Bahrain Hotel launched the 2018 Filipino Food Festival on 11 November 2018 at the Soie Restaurant of the Sheraton.
The festival, which ran from 11 to 16 November 2018, featured creations of Chef Michelle Ardillana that showed the potential of Philippine cuisine to be at par with popular international cuisines.
The featured menu for the opening night included Beef Sinigang Martini, Dinamita, Kilawin (Mackerel Ceviche), Laing Prawns Thermidor, Chicken Inasal Burrito, Duck Adobo, Lamb Kaldereta, Barbequed Lamb Adobo, Beef Cheeks and Oxtail Sisig, Beef Pares, and Ube Suman Sushi and Deconstructed Halo-Halo for dessert.
Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver and his wife, Mme. Caroline Belinda C. Ver, together with Sheraton Bahrain Hotel’s General Manager Thomas Flindt, led the launch of the Filipino Food Festival and welcomed guests that included members of the diplomatic, particularly Asian ambassadors, as well as leaders from the business sector and the Filipino community.
