PH Ambassador Seeks Energy, Agribusiness Cooperation with Denmark

Oslo

COPENHAGEN 05 November 2018 —Ambassador to Denmark Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia discussed possible investments of Denmark in the Philippines, particularly in the areas of renewable energy and agribusiness, during her meeting with the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU) of Denmark on 24 October 2018.

Ambassador Batoon-Garcia sought the IFU’s assistance in attracting small-scale, off-the-grid, renewable energy investments for far-flung communities in the Philippines, as well as investments in technology and fish processing.

The IFU offers risk capital and advice to companies with projects in developing countries and emerging markets that are of Danish interest. The IFU has supported 16 projects in the Philippines since 1972, notably the Bangui wind farm project in Ilocos Norte, which uses wind turbines manufactured by Vestas, a Danish energy company.

Ambassador Batoon-Garcia was accompanied by Vice Consul Jahzell Abihail Cruz and Honorary Consul General Poul Krogh during the meeting. END
