PRETORIA 05 November 2018 — Ambassador to South Africa Joseph Gerard B. Angeles presented his letters of credence to Acting President of Mauritius Paramasivum Pillay "Barlen" Vyapoory during ceremonies held at the state house of Port Luis on 04 October 2018.

The presentation of credentials marks the official accreditation of Ambassador Angeles as the Philippines’ non-resident Ambassador to Mauritius.

In a meeting that followed the ceremony, Ambassador Angeles and Acting President Vyapoory discussed the status of excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and Mauritius as well as other issues of mutual interest.

Both recognized that there exist exciting opportunities in expanding mutual cooperation on various fields, especially in expanded people-to-people and business-to-business relations.

Ambassador Angeles is currently based in Pretoria, and has concurrent jurisdiction over South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Madagascar. END
