The Philippine BCBP delegation was in Lisbon to attend the 26th International Christian Union of Entrepreneurial Leaders (UNIAPAC) World Congress from 22-24 November 2018 at the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in Lisbon.

The visiting BCBP delegation included BCBP’s Founder and Spiritual Director Fr. Herb Schneider, SJ BCBP Chairman Tito Serafica, President Joffe Almoro, Managing Director Serge dela Fuente, past presidents Bobby Laviña, Manolet Siojo and Louie Morales, BCBP Corporate Secretary Doy Nunag, and Joey Avellana, among others.

At the awarding ceremonies of the 26th UNIAPAC World Conference, PHINMA President and CEO Ramon del Rosario was awarded the first-ever UNIAPAC Business Noble Vocation Award for his work in helping the disadvantaged segments of Philippine society in the areas of education and housing.  Del Rosario received the award at ceremonies attended by 400 congress participants from all over the world

Ambassador Feria gave her remarks during the closing ceremonies, thanking the delegates for its unanimous vote to hold the 27th UNIAPAC World Conference in the Philippines in March 2021.  Ambassador Feria cited the relevance of the timing of the Philippine hosting in 2021, as the country will commemorate the 500th anniversary of the arrival of Christianity in the Philippines.

UNIAPAC was founded in Rome in 1931, and was first known as the International Conference of Catholic Business Owners. UNIAPAC brings together Christian Business Leader Associations from 38 countries all over the world, representing 30,000 very active business executives worldwide, almost half of whom are from the Philippines.

The BCBP received the full support of the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines, headed by COO Marie Venus Q. Tan, who endorsed the former’s bid to host the next World Congress.

Ambassador Feria presented a three-minute tourism video of the Philippines featuring its beautiful beaches, rich marine environment, and other scenic tourist spots, which was enthusiastically received by the delegates present.

The next World Congress in the Philippines will be organized by the BCBP in coordination with the UNIPAC International. END
