PH Embassy in Vientiane Booth Shines at Annual Tea Party

VIENTIANE 11 December 2018 — The Philippine Embassy in Vientiane participated in the annual Tea Party organized by the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Women’s Union on 23 November 2018 at the International Center for Training and Cooperation (ICTC).
The Embassy displayed a wide array of Philippine products, which garnered attention from attendees comprised of female Lao government officials, diplomatic corps and international organizations.
It also showcased Philippine-made accessories and bags from Yvette’s Bags and Beatriz Line, Malagos Chocolate, Benguet coffee, woven handicrafts, boleros from Chill by Nooks, and lunch boxes, shirts, ledgers and backpacks from Likha ni Inay by the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually Reinforcing Institutions.
The booth was also decorated with “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” tarpaulins and woven lamps.
Members of the Filipino Community in Laos also dazzled the crowd with the Paypay de Manila folk dance. Their simple costumes highlighted their elegant performance, and several attendees took photos with the Filipinas after their performance.
The Women’s Union of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts the Annual Tea Party in November of each year. It aims to promote unity among female representatives from the Lao government, diplomatic corps, and international organizations through cultural diplomacy. END
