PH Delivers Ad Hoc Working Group Report at Int’l Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage Session

PARIS 11 December 2018 – The Philippines and Algeria, co-chairs of the Open-Ended Informal Ad-Hoc Working Group, presented their report during the 13th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Port Louis, Mauritius on 01 December 2018.
The report contains consolidated recommendations on the funding mechanism of the Convention, governance and working methods of the Committee, consultation and dialogue between the Evaluation Body and the submitting States Parties, relations with non-government organizations, and other issues to facilitate the work of the Committee.
The mandate of the Ad-Hoc Working Group was extended to continue reflection on dialogue and role of accredited NGOs, and to further discuss and make recommendations on other issues to facilitate the work of the Committee.
The Ad-Hoc Working Group, co-chaired by Deputy Permanent Delegate Hendrik Garcia and Algerian Permanent Delegation to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Attaché Nassim Mohan Amer, met on 26 April, 23 May, and 28 September 2018. END
