PH Consulate General in San Francisco Hosts Talk On Executive Opportunities in the PH
SAN FRANCISCO 11 December 2018 — To entice Filipino-Americans in the Bay Area to pursue careers in the Philippines, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco organized a talk of John Clements Consultants President and CEO Carolina V. Dominguez entitled “The Return Path from Silicon Valley to an Executive in the Philippines” held at the Philippine Center on 26 November 2018.
The talk was held through its Philippine Trade and Investment Centre – Silicon Valley, and in coordination with the Science & Technology Advisory Council – Silicon Valley (STAC-SV).
During her talk, Ms. Dominguez encouraged attendees to consider looking at the Philippines in their search for career opportunities. She shared that with the Philippines’ strong economic growth, there are now more available job opportunities in the Philippines, especially at the managerial and highly technical positions, with globally competitive salaries.
She further noted that, based on her experience as a former OFW, moving back to the Philippines contributes to nation-building, especially if OFWs and Filipino-Americans are able to bring with them their experience and skills acquired abroad.
Ms. Dominguez previously worked in Citibank in New York, London, and Milan, before moving back to the Philippines to head John Clements Consultants, a leading recruitment and human resources services firm, which looks for talent for a large range of businesses in the Philippines in a variety of positions (from managerial to technical).
The activity is in line with Spark 447 and the overarching Spark*Connect*Empower movement, which hopes to “spark” interest in the startup ecosystem in the Philippines among Filipino Americans, “connect” individuals and organizations in Silicon Valley to like-minded networks in the Philippines, and “empower” the community to help bridge the gap between the Philippines and Silicon Valley.
