Arkansas State Secretary Receives PH Consul General
PHOTO: Consul General in Houston Jerril Santos was warmly welcomed by Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin at his office in Little Rock, as the former said that the newly opened Philippine Consulate General in Houston, aimed at building a closer relationship with Arkansas.
Both officials agreed that the best way to commence building relations is through people-to-people exchanges. The discussions also touched on possible ways to expand relations on agricultural research noting that Arkansas, being a leading producer of rice in the United States, and the Philippines, being a country host of the International Research Institute, can find ways for collaboration.
Consul General Santos thanked the Arkansas government for looking after the wellbeing of the Filipino-American Community in the state, to which Secretary Martin replied that the Filipino Community in Arkansas is very vibrant and has been a positive influence in the community. (Houston PCG photos)
