ATHENS 10 December 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Athens held a book reading to celebrate the Libraries and Information Services (LIS) Month and Bonifacio Day on 30 November 2018.

A total of 15 Filipino school children, aged seven to eight, were invited to listen to the reading of “Ngumiti si Andoy,” a children’s book written by Xi Zuq, illustrated by Dominic Agsaway, and published by Adarna House. The book tells the story of a young kid named Andrew who visited the Heroes Park in his school to draw a picture of the statue of Andres Bonifacio.

After the book reading, a short animation film on Andres Bonifacio was shown to the school children.

The film showing was followed by a short talk by Ambassador to Greece Frank R. Cimafranca on the life of Andres Bonifacio.

At the end of his talk, Ambassador Cimafranca and Ms. Cimafranca distributed copies of “Ngumiti si Andoy” and other children’s books to the school children. (Athens PE photos)
