Filipinos in Mexico Participate in First Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Financial Literacy Seminar in Latin America
MEXICO 03 January 2019 – Members of the Filipino Community in Mexico spent their Sunday afternoon at the “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” Financial Literacy Seminar at the Galeria Reforma Hotel in Mexico City on 09 December 2018.
The event was spearheaded by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in Mexico.
Trade Counsellor Vichael Angelo Roaring briefed over 35 attendees on the state of the Philippine economy, and the entrepreneurship and innovation program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) where Filipinos overseas can tap DTI resources for setting up small enterprises and investing in businesses.
The Embassy also invited AT&T Mexico Assistant Vice President Carlos Malana, who delivered a talk on personal finances and investment planning. As a fellow kababayan, he shared his own experiences working abroad, and learning how to manage his income and spending.
The presentations were followed by a question-and-answer segment and sharing of experiences over lunch. Participants shared personal stories and anecdotes on their entrepreneurship projects and other financial planning methods to augment their income. The event closed with an awarding of certificates of participation to the attendees. END
