PH Consulate General in Vancouver, Senior Trade Commissioner Meets with Aquilini Renewable Energy, Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada
PHOTO: Philippine Trade and Investment Center-Toronto Senior Trade Commissioner (STC) Maria Roseni Alvero called on Aquilini Renewable Energy Ltd. President John Negrin during her visit to Vancouver to inquire on the status of the projects and the challenges being encountered by the company.
At the call, Aquilini Renewable Energy Ltd. President John Negrin talks about Aquilini’s current waste-to-energy project in Cebu and their business expansion plans throughout the Philippines.
Aquilini operates a US$20 million waste recycling facility in the Cebu Light Industrial Park in Lapu-Lapu. It identified six additional locations in 2015, agreements for three of which have already been signed for Cebu, Calabarzon, and Palawan. They are also considering investing in agriculture, commercial property development, hotel/restaurant development, and LNG facility and distribution in the Philippines in the future.
STC Alvero, who was accompanied by Consul General Maria Andrelita Austria and Consul Arlene T. Magno, also met with Asia Pacific Foundation (APF) of Canada President and CEO Ret. Ambassador Stewart Beck.
She also briefed the APF on the Philippines’ investment priority sectors for Canada and inquired on possible prospects for collaboration between the APF and the Philippines. She also expressed interest in exploring how the Philippines could participate in the Foundation’s programs involving the Southeast Asian region. (Vancouver PCG photos)
