PH Ambassador, Turkey’s Grand National Assembly Speaker Reaffirm Commitment in Farewell Call

Ambassador Sanchez and Speaker Yıldırım expressed satisfaction at the significant progress in Philippines-Turkey bilateral relations and reaffirmed commitment in pursuing deeper relations in the areas of trade, defense, education, tourism, culture, and agriculture, especially as 2019 marks the 70th year of bilateral ties.
Speaker Yıldırım reaffirmed Turkey’s strong support to the peace process in the southern Philippines. He also expressed appreciation for the Philippines’ support to the Turkish government during the failed coup on 15 July 2016.
In response, Ambassador Sanchez underscored the country’s commitment towards a lasting and peaceful solution in Mindanao, while thanking Turkey for its continuing active role in the process, and that the Philippines remains in solidarity with Turkey in the fight against the scourge of terrorism.
