PH Consulate General Supports Launch of Pro Bono Legal Group in HK

HONG KONG 08 January 2019 —Consul General to Hong Kong Antonio A. Morales lent support to the newly-established International Pro-Bono Legal Services Association Limited (IPLSA), held on 07 December 2018 at the Conference Centre of the Disneyland Hong Kong Hotel.

The inauguration ceremony and gala dinner for the IPLSA launch were attended by some 300 members of the consular corps, government officials, legal practitioners, and the business community.

At the event, Consul General Morales took the opportunity to establish contacts with Hong Kong legal personalities and luminaries for possible cooperation on initiatives for the Filipino Community in the territory, especially benefiting Filipino nationals in distress who require legal services for various cases such as labor issues, child custody and human trafficking.

IPLSA is a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong, which aims to enhance access by individuals in need of pro-bono legal services as well as to promote cross-jurisdictional pro-bono legal services amongst legal practitioners from different jurisdictions. END
