Best of PH Dive Sites Showcased in HK Expo

HONG KONG 16 January 2019 — “The Philippines boasts some of the most attractive and diverse spots for Hong Kong divers, due to its proximity to Hong Kong, availability of cheap flights and relative affordability of dive facilities,” Consul General in Hong Kong Antonio A. Morales said.

Consul General Morales made the remark during a visit by representatives of the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong on the first day of the three-day 2018 Diving and Resort Travel (DRT) Expo in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Consulate team also included Deputy Consul General Germinia V. Aguilar-Usudan, Consul Fatima G. Quintin, and Attachés Luz M. Iglesias and Charlene A. Beriana from the Political and Economic Section. 

The Department of Tourism organized a country pavilion featuring its top 21 dive and travel resorts. The Philippine Tourism Office in Shanghai, headed by Tourism Attaché Mr. Ireneo H. Reyes, and the Tourism Promotions Board- International Promotions Department for ASEAN and the Pacific Division, led by its Officer-in-Charge James A. Sy, of the, ran the pavilion.

The Expo, which ran from 14-16 December 2018, featured around 250 exhibitors and expected 50,000 attendees. Aside from dive resorts, it showcased products such as dive equipment and manufacturers, water sport equipment and manufacturers, wholesalers, exporters, and underwater photography and videography.
