14 January 2014 - The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi held a simple program on December 30, 2013 to commemorate the 117th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal. After the singing of the national anthem, and the ecumenical prayer, the Chargé d’affaires welcomed the participants to the event. Select Embassy officers and staff then recited Jose Rizal’s famous poem A La Juventud Filipina both in Filipino and Spanish. A member of the Filipino community led the singing of patriotic song Bayan Ko, followed by performances of folk dances cariñosa and tinikling.
