PH Embassy in Manama Assists Ninth Batch of Beneficiaries for Bahraini Flexi Visas

MANAMA 18 January 2019 – Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver led the distribution of Blue Cards for the ninth batch of Filipinos approved by Bahrain’s Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) for the Flexi Visa program on 20 December 2018.  

A total of 62 Filipinos—45 formerly skilled visa holders and 17 former household service workers—received their Blue Cards at the Sitra Branch of the LMRA. All 62 received financial assistance from the Department of Foreign Affairs through the Philippine Embassy in Manama.

To date, a total of 540 Filipinos, 515 skilled and 25 household service workers, who were formerly out-of-status, have regularized their status through the joint project of the Embassy and the LMRA.

The Blue Cards means that they have qualified and are availing of the Flexi-Visa program, which is a residence and work permit made available for the those who have no legal immigration status in Bahrain. It is renewal every two years, and covers health insurance and return ticket once the contract period has ended, or when the migrant worker wants to return to his/her country. END
