PH Ambassador Leads First Wreath-Laying at the Rizal Bust in Czech

PRAGUE 31 December 2018 – To mark 122nd anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal and the first wreath-laying in Prague, the Philippine Embassy in Prague, headed by Ambassador to Czech Republic Ombra T. Jainal, led the wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Bust located at the foyer of the Czech National Bank in Na Prikope, Prague on 28 December 2018.
Ambassador Jainal delivered a message followed by a reading of Rizal’s poem “To the Filipino Youth” by First Secretary and Consul Juan E. Dayang, Jr. Former Czech Ambassador Jaroslav Olsa also delivered a message.
The installation of the Rizal bust, created by Filipino sculptor Jose Giroy, was the brainchild of Czech National Bank Vice-Governor Vladimir Tomšik and was inaugurated on 25 June 2018 by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Nestor A. Espenilla, Jr. and Czech National Bank Governor Jiri Rusnok. END
