PH Consulate General Attends Christmas, Induction Ball of Filipino Ladies Association of Guam

AGANA 24 January 2019 – The Philippine Consulate General in Agana attended the 58th Induction Ball of the Filipino Ladies Association of Guam (FLAG) on 05 January 2019 at the Chamorro Ballroom of the Pacific Star Resort and Spa in Guam.
Consul Mark Francis C. Hamoy, the Consulate General’s Acting Head of Post, administered the oath of the 2019 FLAG officers, namely Lorie Castelo (president), Nilfa Milan (vice president), Chona Cabedo Garin (recording secretary), Judy Alquero (corresponding secretary), Emelita Crisostomo (treasurer), and Annie Gozum-Soto (assistant treasurer).
Madame Esperanza de Borja, spouse of Consul General to Agana Marciano R. de Borja, together with Guam First Lady Madame Christine S. Calvo, presented the corsages to FLAG’s outgoing president Celia Case-Martinez and incoming president Ms. Castelo, respectively.
Superior Court of Guam Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena III and 34th Guam Legislature Senator Regine Biscoe-Lee also graced the annual event. Guam Department of Education College Pathway program director Dr. Leah Beth Naholowaa, delivered the keynote remarks.
A dance performance of “Subli” by FLAG members and a rendition of Philippine folk songs by Fil-Am Presidents Club of Guam officers delighted the audience.
The FLAG was founded in 1962, and has since been active in organizing various social and civic activities, such as the annual Santacruzan. END
