ISTANBUL 31 December 2018 — Nearly 300 Filipinos in Istanbul were served by the Philippine Embassy in Ankara in its last consular mission for the year, held on 29 December 2018.
The team from the Embassy rendered 164 ePassport services, 38 Embassy IDs, 39 notarizations, five civil registrations, and three National Bureau of Investigation applications.
A year-end meeting with the Filipino community in Istanbul was also held to review the activities in 2018 and to hear the community’s plans for 2019.
After the meeting, the Embassy was joined by Filipinos present in commemorating the 122nd anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal in a simple yet solemn event.
Filipinos briefly shared their reflections on the martyrdom and sacrifice of the national hero and its meaning to today’s Filipinos, especially or those overseas who are referred to as the nation’s new heroes. END
