PH Embassy in DC Opens VAW Desk, Adds Another 24/7 Line for Clients

WASHINGTON, D.C. 29 January 2019 — During the public forum on gender-based violence held on 01 December 2018, the Philippine Embassy in Washington D.C. announced the launching of a Violence Against Women (VAW), desk where victims and concerned parties may report to seek assistance and support.

To reinforce the desk and enable victims and other distressed Filipinos staying outside the DC area to reach the Embassy, the diplomatic mission has set up a 24/7 VAW and Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) hotline: mobile no. +1-202-769-8049.

The hotline is separate from the existing 24/7 duty phone (mobile number: +1-202-368-2767), which receives and responds to queries on consular matters and other Embassy services as well as information on the Philippines. END
