PH Assumes Chairmanship of ASEAN Committee in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD 29 January 2019 —The Philippines officially assumed the chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad (ACI) in a turnover ceremony held at the High Commission of Malaysia in Islamabad on 23 January 2019.
During the ceremony, Malaysian High Commissioner Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim turned over the chairmanship of the ACI to Ambassador to Pakistan Daniel R. Espiritu. The Philippines’ tenure as the ACI Chair will be for six months, from January to June 2019.
The event was attended by all heads of missions of the ASEAN member states in Islamabad, together with their respective deputies and spouses.
The ACI comprises of the seven ASEAN Heads of missions with permanent mission in Islamabad namely: Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. END
