Filipinos in Macau Celebrate Cebu’s Sinulog Festival

MACAU 29 January 2019 — Devotees of the Child Jesus or Santo Niño flocked the Plaza do Lago de Sai Van outside the Macau Tower on 20 January 2019 for the annual celebration of the Sinulog Festival of Cebu, with this year’s theme “One Beat, One Dance, One Vision for Peace.”

The celebration of the Sinulog Festival has been recognized by the Macau Government, making it a part of its tourism calendar to attract more tourist in Macau.

Consul General Lilybeth R. Deapera, together with Consul Ira Micheline R. Valdez, Cultural Officer Christine E. Panganiban, Welfare Officer Zosima Maria P. Santos and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Administrative Staff Jingky C. Bayog, attended the event.

As the keynote speaker, Consul General Deapera extended her warm greetings to the members of the Filipino Community in Macau and thanked the Macau Government for extending its support to the Community to mark the festivity. END
