PH Embassy in Madrid Conducts Consular Outreach Service in Malaga

MADRID 29 January 2019 — As part of its mandate to provide consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Madrid reached out to the Filipino Community in Malaga, Spain on 19 January 2019 through its yearly consular outreach service, which served around 400 applicants.

The consular outreach includes passport services, civil registration, notarial services, application for dual citizenship, consultations, and Assistance to Nationals and other services. 

The consular team was also complemented by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, which catered to issuance of overseas employment certificates, contract verification, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration membership, and other services. The Philippine Honorary Consul in Malaga also joined the group.

During the outreach, a courtesy lane was set up to address the need of senior citizens, infants, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, and other special cases. 

The local Filipino Community organization, Federación de Asociaciones Filipinos en Andalucía, and other individuals and groups were also present to lend a hand during the outreach service.

Malaga is approximately 800 kilometers from Madrid, and is home to about 5,000 Filipinos. END
