PH Consulate General Meets with Faculty, Students of the University of Sydney

SYDNEY 29 January 2019 — Consul General to Sydney Maria Teresa L. Taguiang met with the representatives of the South East Asia Center (SSEAC) of the University of Sydney led by SSEAC Director Professor Michelle Ford, on 17 January 2019.

SSEAC Executive Member Dr. Sandra Seno-Alday invited Consul General Taguiang to share the continuing engagement of the University’s academics and students with the Philippines.

The University’s engagement with the Philippines is coordinated through SSEAC in the areas of health; environment and resources; economic and social development; heritage and the arts; and state and society.

Consul General Taguiang thanked the SSEAC faculty for the warm welcome and for discussing the various cooperation of the University of Sydney with the Philippines. She assured the group of the Consulate’s continued collaboration and future partnership.  On the other hand, Dr. Alday volunteered to be the Consulate’s resource speaker for its future seminars and forums on various issues such as gender and development, humanities and other issues under SSEAC.
