PH Embassy in Manama Continues Flexi-Visa Financial Assistance Program for Qualified Former HSWs

MANAMA 30 January 2019 — Ambassador to Bahrain Alfonso A. Ver, Philippine Embassy in Manama personnel and representatives of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), distributed Blue Cards to 18 former household service workers (HSWs) who successfully applied for Flexi Visas and availed of the Embassy’s Financial Assistance Program of the on 17 January 2019.
The Flexi Visa is an innovative program of the Bahraini Government that provides an opportunity for irregular workers to correct their status in the Kingdom. The Embassy’s Financial Assistance Program supports the successful applicants by taking care of the application fee for the Flexi Visa and the first two monthly payments.
Since the launching of the Flexi-Visa Financial Assistance Program in October 2018, a total of 609 Filipino workers, who were formerly working and living illegally in Bahrain, have benefitted from the Philippine Government’s Financial Assistance Program for the Flexi Visa. END
