VIENNA 30 January 2019 – Filipinos in Austria renew their dedication to help fellow Filipinos back home through the establishment of the Global Save Life Foundation (GSLF) on 12 January 2019.
Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA) former president Elmer Blanco established GSLF to respond to a higher call—the call to serve and help others. He aims to help marginalized Filipinos back home through partnerships with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and various local government units.
The foundation also seeks to assist disaster-stricken families re-establish their living conditions, to arrange medical missions to communities that have limited access to basic health care facilities and indigents who cannot afford such services, and to provide educational assistance to children whose parents have inadequate means to send them to school.
Through the years, Filipinos in Austria have been generous in giving back to the less fortunate in the Philippines. The GSLF is expected to reinforce this tradition. During the inauguration ceremony of its officers, Ambassador to Austria Maria Cleofe R. Natividad congratulated GSLF for widening its network and partnerships, and for encouraging the Filipino communities in Austria to contribute to Philippine development. END
