Newly-Elected Illinois Attorney General Receives PH Consul General

SPRINGFIELD 06 February 2019 — Together with other members of the Chicago consular corps, Consul General to Chicago Gina A. Jamoralin witnessed the inauguration ceremonies of newly-elected officials of the State of Illinois at the Bank of Springfield Center on 14 January 2019.
Governor JB Pritzker, Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Attorney General Kwame Raoul, State Secretary Jesse White, Comptroller Susana Mendoza, and Treasurer Michael Frerichs were each sworn into office and delivered their inaugural addresses.
After the ceremonies, Attorney General Raoul hosted a reception at his office where he received Consul General Jamoralin and the Chicago consular corps officials and other guests, who came to greet and express their wishes for the 42nd Illinois Attorney General’s success.
The son of Haitian immigrants, Attorney General Raoul was a State Senator who replaced former President Barack Obama after being elected to the United States Senate in 2004. He succeeds Lisa Madigan, who served in the position for 16 years and made collaboration with the Chicago consular corps and the communities they represent a priority. END
