Consul General Inducts Officers of Zamboanga Del Norte Association of Illinois

CHICAGO 06 February 2019 — Despite heavy snow and freezing temperatures in the United States Midwest, the atmosphere at the induction ceremonies organized by the Zamboanga del Norte Association of Illinois (ZAMNAI) at the Lone Tree Manor Banquet Hall in Niles, Illinois on 19 January 2019 was sunny.

Consul General to Chicago Gina Jamoralin inducted into office the 2019 officers and board members of ZAMNAI, led by incoming President Ric Palconayo. Outgoing President Dominador Santos Jr. and founding President Ber Refugio thanked their members for their support through the years in making ZAMNAI a vibrant Filipino-American organization in Illinois. 

In her remarks, Consul General Jamoralin lauded ZAMNAI for its active engagement in the Filipino Community and its support to the first ever “Paskuhan sa Chicago” in Seafood City on 15 December 2018, where ZAMNAI is one of the 20 Filipino-American organizations that joined the Paskuhan Planning Committee. The Consul General also thanked the group for its commitment to promote Philippine culture and to promote unity among its members.

Consul General Jamoralin then invited those present to join the 2019 VIP Tour to the Philippines on 14-21July 2019 to visit Palawan, Clark, Bataan and Manila as part of a country-wide tourism project of the Department of Tourism, Department of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy and Consulates General in the United States.

She also urged those registered as overseas voters to vote in the upcoming May midterm elections in the Philippines through postal voting, administered by the Consulate General. END
