PH Consulate General in Milan Joins Filipino Community Celebrations of Feast of Sto. Niño

MILAN 11 February 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Milan graced a number of celebrations organized by Filipino organizations in northern Italy on the occasion of the Catholic Feast of Señor Santo Niño.
Consul Mersole Mellejor represented the Consulate General at the 25th founding anniversary of the Filipino Community of Santo Niño de Cebu on Via Termopili 7 in Milan on 20 January 2019.
With the theme “Mga Kabataan at Pamilya sa Misyon: Pinakamamahal at Pinalakas ni Señor Santo Niño” (The Youth and Family in Mission: Most Loved and Strengthened by Señor Santo Niño), the celebration was highlighted by the Sinulog street dance by performers of the Cebuanos and Friends Association of Milan. The event culminated with a mass presided over by Monsignor Franco Agnesi.
In Turin, Labor Attachè Maria Corina Buñag represented the Consulate General at the opening of the Torino Sinulog Festival 2019: European Pista Señor Celebration on 26 January 2019.
The event, jointly organized by the Filipino Chaplaincy of Turin and the Associazione Culturale Filippina del Piemonte (ACFIL), brought together a number of Sinulog contingents from different countries in Europe.
The Consulate General also joined the celebration of the Feast of Señor Santo Niño of the Mindoro Bansudeños Association of Milan on 27 January 2019.
The presence of the Consulate General in the various celebrations is an expression of solidarity with the members of the Catholic Filipino community in its jurisdiction in their devotion to the Santo Niño. END
