PH Consul General Meets with California Representative

SAN FRANCISCO 11 February 2019 — Consul General to San Francisco Henry S. Bensurto Jr. called on California Representative Jackie Speier at her office in Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. on 29 January 2019. 

During the call, Consul General Bensurto congratulated Representative Speier on her re-election, which is especially important to the Filipino community, as there is a significant number of Filipino Americans in her district. 

Representative Speier noted that her constituent Filipino Americans continuously dialogue with her on important issues.  She added that she will continue to advocate for issues such as veterans rights.

Both Consul General Bensurto and Representative Speier agreed to continue engagements in areas of mutual concern.

Representative Speier represents California’s 14th District, covering parts of San Francisco and San Mateo Counties, at the United States House of Representatives. She was recently re-elected for a sixth consecutive term in Congress during the U.S. midterm elections last November. END
