Consul General Delivers New Year’s Message for Ontarians

TORONTO 13 February 2019 — Consul General to Toronto Rosalita S. Prospero was invited by the anchors of Talakayan Radyo Filipino in Toronto to deliver her New Year’s Message on 05 January 2019.
Consul General Prospero conveyed her New Year greetings, and assured the public of better service from the Consulate General including working with the motto: “Service with Respect for 2019 and Beyond.”
The Consul General mentioned that in 2019, the Philippines will be commemorating 70 years of Philippines-Canada diplomatic relations. For the first time, the whole of Canada will celebrate the First Filipino Heritage Month in 2019.
The radio interview was broadcasted live via internet from the MCBN TV- Pinoy Radio Station at Patricia Kemp Community Centre in the city of Thornhill, Greater Toronto Area.
Talakayan anchors include Filipino community pioneers, Program Producer Jess Cabrias, Bobby Achacon, Nelson Galvez, Tony San Juan, and Joe Damaso.
The anchors and the Consul General also expressed their sympathies to the families who were affected by the recent Typhoon Usman, which destroyed lives and properties in the Philippines.
The radio interview covered services of the Consulate General and the benefits of having a one-country team including labor office, trade office, social security and, home development mutual fund.
The Consulate General also briefed the public about Winter Escapade 6, held from 28 January to 04 February 2019 in Manila, Batangas and Palawan, and where a total of 230 Filipino-Canadians participated. END
