BANGKOK 13 February 2019 — Ambassador to Thailand Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon joined Thai alumni of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (UPLB) during a seminar they organized at Kasetsart University on 01 February 2019.

Entitled “ASEAN Connectivity during the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, the seminar coincided with the 76th founding anniversary of Kasetsart University, Thailand’s first agricultural university, and served as a reunion for the Thai UPLB Alumni Association members.

In her special remarks, Ambassador Bernardo-Aragon emphasized the Philippines’ initiatives in the agricultural and industrial sectors as well as the importance of inclusiveness in the context of development. She also briefly discussed the importance of regional cooperation in addressing some opportunities and challenges arising from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Select speakers subsequently delivered presentations on their respective fields of expertise, which included business, agriculture, tourism and education. The presentations were followed by a slideshow on the history of UPLB, and the lives of Thai students in Los Baños.

There were approximately 60 participants in the seminar, most of whom were alumni of UPLB.  END
