PH Embassy in Rome Processes 272 Passports in Messina City

ROME 19 February 2019 – As part of its mandate to bring consular services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Rome kicked off its 2019 Consular Outreach Program in Messina City on 09-10 February 2019.
The consular outreach was held in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate in Reggio Calabria led by Honorary Consul Francesco Mortelliti and the City of Messina, which provided the historic Palazzo Zanca as the venue for the outreach.
The consular team rendered a total of 312 services, including 272 passport applications, 22 civil registry applications, seven affidavits, and five certifications. Six individuals took their Oath of Allegiance for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.
The Embassy’s attached agencies, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, also rendered services to 219 clients, while the Social Security System and Pag-IBIG attended to 105 and 85 clients, respectively.
Messina City is located in the Italian island of Sicily, and home to nearly 4,500 Filipinos. END
